‘Shrine to our Heroes’

NAVY_NURSESThe Support Foundation’s Commemorative Works and Memorial Monuments Committee was established to assist organizations and individuals who wish to enhance and beautify Miramar National Cemetery with their contribution of a commemorative work, or a memorial monument.

The committee will help secure approval from the National Cemetery Administration, and will raise funds through the Support Foundation for landscaping, siting, and a perpetual maintenance trust. To date, the Support Foundation has facilitated placement of a POW Monument, and monuments commemorating Jewish War Veterans, the Navy Nurse Corps, the Chosin Few, and Army Special Forces.

Our goals are high, and our tasks are extensive. Your support is vital to realizing the many planned enhancements, such as the following:

  • Three reflecting lakes
  • Memorial Carillon
  • Chapel for Services
  • Medal of Honor Memorial
  • Memorial Day Services
  • Iwo Jima Memorial
  • Korean War Memorial
  • Vietnam War Memorial
  • Commemorative Ceremonies
  • Veterans Day Ceremonies
